Conservation First Nations Internship Opportunity

Job Summary:
Zoos Victoria is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Wildlife Conservation and Science team as a First Nations Intern. The successful candidate will have recently completed a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and be looking to gain hands-on experience in conservation planning and research.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with conservation planning and reviews, ex-situ zoo-based programs, and recovery teams
- Participate in field-based research and learn numerous research skills and techniques
- Undertake a research project focusing on knowledge gaps or key research questions associated with Zoos Victoria's Fighting Extinction species or other Victorian threatened species
Eligibility:
- Must identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
- Must have completed a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline recently and have a good academic performance (GPA of Credit or above)
- Must meet fitness requirements of the role and be able to work in arduous conditions and for extended periods in the field
What We Offer:
- A 12-month fixed-term position with the opportunity to gain valuable experience in conservation and research
- A competitive salary range of $62,492 per annum + 11.5% superannuation
- The chance to work with a passionate and driven team committed to fighting wildlife extinction
