Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Informatics Manager to join our team at Southern NSW Local Health District. As a key member of our Community Health Information Management Unit, you will play a critical role in providing expert advice and services on all facets of Clinical Informatics to Population and Community Health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice and services on all facets of Clinical Informatics to Population and Community Health, with a specific focus on the provision of a range of CI support to PaCH to achieve business and service objectives.
  • Operational management of the PaCH Health Information Manager within CHIMU, including planning, coordinating, leading, and managing human, financial, material, and capital resources to provide a cost-effective, quality service that meets key performance indicators and financial accountabilities of the Clinical Informatics functions within Community Health Information Management Unit.
  • Bridging clinical practice and information technology to ensure systems are medicolegally compliant within relevant Health Information Management frameworks, overseeing the integration and optimisation of clinical information systems to enhance patient care, streamline workflows, and improve overall healthcare outcomes.
  • Managing a team of Clinical Informatics Analyst and Health Information Manager to collaborate with clinical teams, Digital Health, and eHealth to ensure the effective implementation and utilisation of clinical information systems, such as Cerner eMR and EPIC Systems.
  • Translating the needs of clinical teams into efficient and user-friendly technological solutions, promoting the adoption of best practices in clinical informatics, and ensuring compliance with Medicolegal, and Safety and Quality standards.
  • Leading targeted training programs to enable clinical staff to have the necessary skills to leverage these technologies, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in care delivery.
Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Health Informatics or relevant equivalent work experience, or a combination of study and work experience.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills to enhance staff performance, influence workplace culture, and lead change.
  • Extensive knowledge of contemporary issues in Health Informatics.
  • Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills with a strong customer service approach.
  • Demonstrated high level analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to provide authoritative advice and recommendations across a large and complex organisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with senior management, and other key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and evaluation at strategic and service levels within a high-volume dynamic work environment.
  • Willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position.
