Senior Finance Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Finance Officer to join our not-for-profit client, based on Ngunnawal land, to support the Finance Manager in ensuring financial and payroll transactions are accurately processed and recorded. This role will be pivotal in maintaining financial integrity and operational success for the organisation.

The Role:

  • Process electronic transfers, payment runs, and daily bank reconciliations, guaranteeing expenditures align with agreed budgets.
  • Reconcile key balance sheet accounts and manage asset registers with monthly depreciation.
  • Assist with month-end journals, annual budgets, and statutory financial reports, providing timely and accurate information.
  • Support cash flow management and travel expense analysis, ensuring financial stability.
  • Perform regular payroll, resolve discrepancies, and process superannuation, maintaining employee satisfaction.
  • Manage time sheeting system, including on-boarding and leave balances, promoting work-life balance.
  • Prepare and lodge quarterly BAS and annual FBT returns, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Requirements:

  • An undergraduate qualification in accounting or equivalent education and experience is desirable.
  • Experience working within a not-for-profit is highly desirable.
  • Experience in Payroll is essential, with AP skills highly desirable.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of accrual accounting principles and sound financial management governance.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
