Key Compositing Role

As a senior compositor at a global visual effects facility in Sydney, Australia

This renowned studio has created visual effects for over 325 feature films and played a key role in seven of the top 10 worldwide box-office hits of all time. Our team continues to break new ground in visual effects, VR, AR, and Immersive Cinema.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Combine live action and computer-generated elements into visually stunning shots that realise the creative vision and direction of clients and Visual Effects Supervisors.
  • Work with live action plates, 2D tracking, matte extraction, layering elements, and colour grading to create seamlessly integrated shots.
  • Collaborate with Compositing Supervisors and VFX Supervisors to evaluate approaches for assigned shots.
  • Create high-quality complete shots that maintain the overall look, colour balance, and quality for assigned shots and sequences.
  • Contribute as a team member in determining aesthetic solutions; provide feedback to other production members by attending regular dailies.
  • Work with and mentor junior artists, assisting them with their shots.
  • Meet defined milestones within project timelines.
  • Participate in creative problem-solving during daily meetings.
Requirements:
  • Strong foundation in fine arts skills, including photography, lighting, composition, colour, and design.
  • Proven compositing skills demonstrated through a showreel.
  • Proficiency in Nuke is essential.
  • Knowledge of Python and/or C++ is beneficial.
  • Able to write Nuke gizmos is an asset.
  • A well-crafted reel or portfolio supports any application.
