About the Role

The Director of Planning, Environment and Communities will lead a diverse directorate of professionals in delivering services to the community of Kiama. This is a unique opportunity to partner with internal and external stakeholders and influence strategic policy related to planning, the environment and community services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Planning and Development Facilitation team
  • Oversee the Culture and Libraries team
  • Manage the Community Hubs, including the Leisure Centre
  • Lead the Environmental and Compliance Services team
  • Direct the Tourism, Events and Economic Development team
  • Oversee Communications and engagement
About You

This role is suitable for a commercially-minded individual seeking a challenging and rewarding position. As a highly regarded leader of people, you will have a history of delivering positive outcomes, leading teams through periods of change, building cultures that you are proud of and being firmly focused on outcomes.

Advanced communication and advocacy skills are essential, as is the ability to develop effective partnerships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholder groups.
