About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our community development initiatives in leisure and sport. As the Community Development Director, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality programs and services that support the development of a resilient, thriving, and diverse community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the strategic development and coordination of programs and services offered by the organization.
  • Provide leadership and support to a team of subject matter experts in areas such as Health & Wellbeing, Aquatics, Community Development, Hirers, Contract compliance, and Sporting Competitions.
  • Drive innovation and ensure alignment to industry best practice through the adoption of cutting-edge methodologies.
  • Maximize holistic health and wellness outcomes for the community through effective retention strategies.
  • Ensure all deliverables are completed to a high standard, within the required timeframe, and to budget.
  • Provide strategic insights, reporting, and improvement strategies through business analytics.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in sport/recreation management or planning, business, or other relevant fields.
  • Experience in building and leading high-performing teams.
  • Successful track record in delivering improvements in health and social outcomes, including increased participation levels in sport and activity.
  • Leisure industry experience.
  • Previous experience working with a local Council or other government entity is desirable but not essential.
