Senior Consultant in Sustainable Building Performance

Position Overview
This role presents an exceptional opportunity for a skilled and driven Senior Consultant specializing in Building Performance to contribute to our dynamic team. You will be instrumental in guiding clients through the development of their sustainability strategies, setting targets, and optimizing performance for their existing assets.
As part of a collaborative and knowledgeable team comprising specialists in Building Performance, Sustainability, and Engineering Services, you will engage with a national network while primarily operating from our Melbourne office. Our mission is to assist building owners in identifying and addressing their climate-related risks and opportunities through performance optimization strategies.
Your Contributions Will Include:
- Collaborating closely with clients to ascertain their asset performance requirements, including net zero objectives, performance enhancement, electrification, and emissions management.
- Spotting opportunities for sustainable practices and implementing cost-effective improvements through energy audits and industry-standard rating assessments, such as Green Star Performance and NABERS.
- Facilitating client meetings and managing projects to establish scope, budget, and timelines.
- Conducting assessments and audits across a diverse range of facilities.
- Overseeing the ongoing utility performance and management plans for a portfolio of assets, focusing on energy, water, indoor environmental quality, waste, carbon emissions, and renewable energy.
- Providing advisory services to developers, facility managers, asset managers, and portfolio owners.
- Building and nurturing strong relationships with clients and industry stakeholders.
- Becoming part of a growing network of specialized Building Performance consultants, with opportunities for career advancement and professional development.
Required Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualifications in mechanical, electrical, or building services engineering.
- Experience in the building services sector, either in consultancy or contractor roles.
- Strong understanding of building services and management system operations.
- Analytical expertise in building energy performance solutions.
- Experience in developing and implementing portfolio strategies related to energy transition and renewables.
- Accreditations such as NABERS Assessor, Commercial Building Disclosure Assessor, or Climate Active Carbon Neutral consultant are desirable.
- Familiarity with the National Construction Code of Australia, Australian Standards, and relevant Codes of Practice.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple projects effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and technical analytical skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficient in client liaison and relationship management throughout various project phases.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive.
- Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
