Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Interpreter to provide high-quality Auslan interpreting services in various situations, both face-to-face and online.

About the Role

  • Provide accurate communication access for customers via face-to-face and online Auslan interpreting services.
  • Work collaboratively with the Customer Bookings Team to ensure bookings are filled as required and time is utilised effectively.
  • Maintain accurate administrative records as required.
  • Adhere to the ASLIA Code of Ethics and organisational Code of Conduct.

  1. Interpret accurately and efficiently in various settings.
  2. Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
  3. Manage administrative tasks with attention to detail.
  4. Maintain professional conduct at all times.

Requirements

  • NAATI Certification (required).
  • Demonstrated experience in various interpreting settings.
  • An in-depth understanding and knowledge of NAATI and the ASLIA Code of Ethics.
  • Strong work ethic and professional approach.
  • Excellent listening, interpretation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and/or with a team.
  • Punctual and reliable.
  • Flexibility to accommodate and adapt to short notice schedule changes throughout the workday.
  • Positive attitude and commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Sound administration skills.

Desirable Qualifications

  • NAATI Certification - Certified Interpreter Level or higher.
  • Driver's licence.
