Our Children's ServicesWe provide a range of early education and care services, including centre-based long day care, preschool, out-of-hours school care, family day care, occasional care, and mobile playgroups. About the RoleThis senior leadership position reports directly to the Director Community and is responsible for leading and managing the Children's Services team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in early education and care, with experience in managing operational budgets, leading teams, and developing strategic plans.
The Senior Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all staff within the Children's Services function work collaboratively towards meeting regulatory requirements and Council's commitments. They will also be involved in divisional planning and implementation of divisional directions and systems.
This role has a collegiate responsibility to facilitate Council-wide outcomes that lead to improved services for the community. The Senior Manager will work closely with the Director Community and Children's Services Operations Managers to ensure that pedagogy and practice reflect current best practice for children and families.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the Children's Services team to deliver high-quality services to children and families.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve Council's goals and objectives.
- Manage operational budgets and ensure financial sustainability of services.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex issues and improve services.
- Ensure that all staff within the Children's Services function work collaboratively towards meeting regulatory requirements and Council's commitments.
- University degree in early education, education, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in managing operational budgets and leading teams.
- Strong background in early education and care, with experience in developing strategic plans and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, managers, and external stakeholders to achieve Council's goals and objectives.
