Senior Clinical Psychologist Role

The Central Queensland Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs Service delivers specialist mental health, substance, and alcohol-related care to a population of over 250,000 residents in Rockhampton, Capricorn Coast, Gladstone, Central Highlands, and Banana areas. With services located in each area, Rockhampton serves as the primary service center, providing administrative support for the Mental Health Act, 2016, as well as hosting Acute Adult Inpatient facilities and an Adult Community Care Unit.


This Senior Clinical Psychologist position offers high-level clinical services and leadership within the multidisciplinary Prison Mental Health Service (PMHS) team. The role is responsible for delivering timely and responsive forensic mental health care, ensuring alignment with the objectives of the PMHS.


Key Responsibilities
  • Promote effective mental health care through collaborative work with the PMHS team.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, adhering to regulatory requirements.

Qualifications and Experience
  • A four-year degree in Psychology (Honours, Graduate Diploma) from an accredited tertiary institution.
  • Full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and current annual practicing certificate.
  • Eligibility for appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner under the Mental Health Act 2016 is highly desirable.
