Key Engineering Leadership Role in Global Food Manufacturing

SunRice, a leading global food company, is seeking an experienced Engineering Design Manager to join their team in Leeton. This key leadership role offers a unique opportunity to drive innovation and growth across the organization's global assets.
As a seasoned technical leader, you will provide strategic direction and support to the SunRice Group Businesses through the delivery of Engineering Design Services and Standards. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping the organization's long-term vision (10/20/30 year plan) for its global assets in Australia, PNG, USA, NZ & Vietnam.
This exciting role involves:
- Developing and implementing Engineering Standards and Design principles that align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements;
- Representing the Company on statutory and government regulations, ensuring compliance and providing expert advice;
- Selecting appropriate solutions for manufacturing processes that optimize efficiency, safety, and sustainability;
- Collaborating closely with the Project Delivery Team and Reliability Team to ensure seamless project execution;
- Designing and delivering electrical and automation projects, as well as providing technical support;
- Auditing and implementing energy and sustainability initiatives to reduce environmental impact;
- Providing recommendations on process and plant improvements, strategic project analysis, and manufacturing footprint optimization.
To succeed in this role, you will require:
- At least 15 years of experience in engineering, preferably in the food manufacturing industry (FMCG);
- Demonstrated success in a technical leadership position, with strong multi-disciplinary knowledge and understanding;
- Experience in project engineering and management, particularly on major projects;
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to travel for work when required;
- Good understanding of Australian Standards and contract management/administration abilities.
The ideal candidate will have experience in:
- Grains/Rice handling design;
- Process design;
- Site coordination.
SunRice offers a competitive remuneration package, including a salary of approximately $140,000 - $160,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus bonus, benefits, and relocation assistance.
