About The RoleAs a copper-gold mine operator, this is a long-life asset that forms part of our extensive mining province.
You will join our dynamic team as we focus on safety, production and business performance improvement.
Key Responsibilities- We design drilling, blasting and production plans.
- Liaise with stakeholders to ensure drill and blast designs meet site requirements.
- Regular time-in-field (multiple times per shift) to ensure drill and blast activities are achieved in a safe and efficient manner.
- Review of drilling, blasting and production plans as required.
- Undertake QA/QC monitoring for production activities.
- Undertake stope reconciliations/abandonments upon completion.
- Manage and monitor the electronic blasting system.
- Monitor and maintain quality data with respect to underground performance.
- Undertake projects necessary to improve processes and practices.
- Assist other Mining Engineering functions as required.
- Assist with incident investigations and implement actions leading to continuous safety performance improvement.
- Conduct Task observations and Critical Control Verifications as required.
- Complete hazard identification, rectification and reporting in line with site requirements.
- Experience working in an underground hard rock mine environment.
- Underground practical experience completed.
- Proven experience in drill and blast design in sub-level open stoping preferred but not essential.
- Previous experience in short term scheduling preferred but not essential.
- Demonstrated ability to be motivated and self-directed to achieve project outcomes.
- Proven ability to work in high pressure environments.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships.
- Previous experience actively promoting safe production and processes.
- Proven ability to work independently in office and underground environments.
- Well-developed Microsoft Office software experience.
