Teaching Position: English Language Teacher

Girton Grammar School is seeking a highly skilled and experienced English Language teacher to develop and deliver high-quality lessons. This is a full-time teaching position starting in January 2026.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to teach English Language to VCE and 7-10 students, helping them to develop a passion for the subject while developing their skills in reading and writing.

The ideal candidate will be able to engage students in critical thinking, discussion, and analysis, fostering a deep understanding of the subject and its real-world applications.

We are looking for an educator who can work in a supportive and collaborative environment to write and deliver explicit lessons that give students access to their preferred futures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver high-quality English Language lessons to VCE and 7-10 students
  • Engage students in critical thinking, discussion, and analysis
  • Foster a deep understanding of the subject and its real-world applications
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A passion for teaching English in years 7-12
  • Proven ability to write and deliver an outstanding English curriculum
  • Understanding of current research-based pedagogies and the ability to apply them to an English curriculum
  • Demonstrated effective delivery of teaching and learning programs
