English Language Teacher

We are seeking an experienced teacher to develop and deliver high-quality English language lessons.

  • Your primary responsibility will be teaching English Language to VCE and 7-10, helping students to develop a passion for the subject, whilst developing their skills in both reading and writing.
  • You will engage students in critical thinking, discussion, and analysis, fostering a deep understanding of the subject and its real-world applications.

This is a full-time and ongoing position starting in January 2026. Part-time applications will also be considered.


About This Position

This role requires you to design a rigorous and robust curriculum that embeds cognitive load theory, explicit instruction, and the Science of Learning.

You will have a proven ability to apply current research-based pedagogies to the English Language curriculum and write and deliver outstanding English curriculum.

The successful candidate will work in a supportive, collaborative environment to write and deliver explicit lessons that give students access to their preferred futures.

Selection Criteria
  • Appropriate qualification and current registration as a teacher
  • A passion for teaching English in years 7-12, with a proven ability to write and deliver an outstanding English curriculum
  • Understand current research-based pedagogies and have a proven ability to apply them to an English curriculum
  • Demonstrated effective delivery of teaching and learning programs
  • A commitment to professional development
  • Excellent personal communication, administrative and organisational skills
  • Commitment to student wellbeing and child safety, demonstrating an understanding of appropriate behaviours when engaging with children, including children with diverse needs and backgrounds
  • Strong skills in the use of information and communication technologies (ICT), especially as they relate to teaching and learning
  • Commitment to co-curricular activities
