**Sustainability and Environmental Leader Role**

We are seeking a Sustainability and Environmental Leader to join our team. This is a key role that will involve developing and implementing initiatives, programs, products, and services that solve environmental and social problems while returning value to our clients, people, and communities.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Develop and implement sustainability plans and environmental management systems for all regions under management.
  • Deliver initiatives defined in the plans across operating regions.
  • Develop and manage sustainability initiatives in line with international, national, and local sustainability and social engagement goals.
  • Identify and implement initiatives to track and reduce waste, water, and energy consumption.
  • Develop and manage key partnerships and initiatives that support contractual obligations, business targets, and objectives.
  • Oversee the Aboriginal Participation Officer ensuring a focus on Aboriginal recruitment, procurements, and cultural awareness.
  • Implement actions from the national Reconciliation Action Plan across CDC NSW.

**About You:**

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualification in Science or Environmental Management (or equivalent).
  • Understanding of planning and environmental legislation, policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Experience with implementing and maintaining environmental management systems.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation, standards, and management systems.
  • Operations experience in complex organizations, preferably in the public transport industry.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
