Job Title: Risk And Compliance Manager

Huntingtower is a reputable educational institution with a commitment to excellence. As part of our strategic efforts, we seek an accomplished professional in risk management and compliance to contribute to the school’s governance, safety, and compliance framework.

Responsibilities:
  1. Provide strategic oversight and hands-on management of the School's Risk Management, OHS and Compliance Frameworks
  2. Maintain and monitor the whole-school Risk Register and support staff in risk assessments for excursions, camps, and other activities
  3. Lead and support the development and review of policies, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and VRQA requirements
  4. Chair the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Committee, embedding a strong culture of safety across the School
  5. Oversee the School's Emergency Management Plans, including staff training and emergency drills
  6. Support the Head of Wellbeing to ensure compliance with Child Safety Standards, including training staff and embedding child safety into risk assessments
  7. Provide advice and reports to the Executive and Board and liaise with contractors, regulators, and external networks as required
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Tertiary qualifications in risk, governance, business, or related fields (postgraduate qualifications highly regarded)
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Standards, OHS legislation, and Child Safety requirements
  • Proven experience in developing and auditing risk and compliance systems
  • Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
  • High levels of discretion, integrity, and professionalism in handling sensitive information
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
