Backend Software Engineer

We're creating an innovative solution to the most prevalent problem in industry - moving and storing material. Our team is applying robotics and distributed software to create a new class of product for this massive market.

The supply chain industry is facing significant challenges with the growth of e-commerce, rising costs, and supply chain disruptions. What was once a 'sleepy' industry is now at the forefront of sustaining the global economy.

We're looking for an experienced backend software engineer to develop and scale the core services that power our system. In this role, you'll work cross-functionally with software and firmware engineers to develop critical command and control functionality.

You'll contribute to the long-term success of our core software stack by leading the development of key path planning, storage planning, and system optimization functionality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor development of software that powers the running of our system
  • Develop automated tests to ensure high-quality software releases and accurate functionality
  • Work closely with the firmware team to ensure seamless service to bot integration
  • Deliver high-quality code in a variety of hardware and cloud environments
  • Design, implement, test, and document software

Requirements:

  • Strong experience with common backend languages, strong recent Python experience
  • Experience with path planning using algorithms
  • Experience with strategies for optimizing inventory placement for storage
  • Experience developing highly available, high reliability systems
  • Familiarity with unit testing, integration testing, regression testing, and HIL testing
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills
  • Sense of ownership and a collaborative approach to developing software within a team
  • Iterative approach to software development
  • Desire to continue learning and growing

Benefits:

This role offers a competitive salary range of 180,000 - 200,000 USD per year.
