Culturally Sensitive Caregiver Position

The primary role of this position is to provide culturally appropriate antenatal and postnatal support to improve the birthing experiences and outcomes for Aboriginal women.

This caregiver will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the provision of culturally sensitive healthcare within the Women's Health, Neonatology, and Paediatrics Unit.

The ideal candidate will possess a Certificate IV in Aboriginal Primary Health Care Practice or be willing to attain it. They should have knowledge and affinity with the local Aboriginal community and experience in working effectively with Aboriginal women, families, and young children.

  • Female and of Aboriginal descent.
  • Certificate IV in Aboriginal Primary Health Care Practice or willingness to attain.
  • Knowledge of and affinity with the local Aboriginal community but moreover part of an Aboriginal community with firsthand understanding of Aboriginal families and culture, with experience in working effectively with Aboriginal women, families and young children.

This position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, communicating effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
