Job Description:The primary responsibility of this position is to provide planning and development advice through various means, including Council's Duty Planner and pre-lodgement services. You will also be responsible for assessing development proposals and related applications, ensuring they meet legislative requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Provide expert planning and development advice to clients
- Assess development proposals and ensure compliance with regulations
- Support customers via counter, phone, and email interactions
- Prepare reports, memorandums, and correspondence on development matters
- Undertake site inspections and coordinate feedback from internal and external stakeholders
- Meet Council deadlines and statutory timeframes
- Carry out other tasks as directed by the Team Leader or Manager
- Enrolment in a tertiary course leading to a qualification in town planning or a related discipline
- Strong interest in development assessment and statutory planning
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic understanding of relevant planning legislation and regulations
- Commitment to continuous learning and a proactive work ethic
- Class C Driver's Licence
