This role supports development assessment and community engagement in a diverse Sydney area.
Your Key Responsibilities- Deliver planning and development information through Council's Duty Planner service.
- Prepare thorough assessment reports and determinations on development applications and subdivision certificates.
- Conduct site inspections and prepare supporting documentation to ensure compliance.
- Coordinate internal and external stakeholder feedback on development matters.
- Respond to customer enquiries at the counter, via email, and by phone.
- Meet statutory timeframes and contribute to efficient development services.
- You must hold tertiary qualifications in Urban Planning or be nearing completion.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for this role.
- Good organisational and problem-solving abilities are necessary for success.
- Understanding of relevant Acts, statutory planning processes, and customer service delivery is expected.
- Able to work collaboratively and professionally in a fast-paced environment.
- A Class C Driver's Licence is required.
Desirable: Knowledge of the Building Code of Australia and prior experience in local government or development assessment.
