The Role

We are seeking a high-achieving employment lawyer who possesses commercial acumen, is highly responsive, and is adept at delivering clear and decisive legal counsel. This role offers the chance to engage in a diverse in-house style environment, working across various sectors and clients of differing sizes, without the constraints of billable hours or timesheet obligations.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Possesses substantial experience in New Zealand employment law, advising both private sector and government clients. Candidates with additional experience in Australian employment law or Australian/New Zealand commercial law are particularly encouraged to apply.
  • Has a minimum of 5 years' post-admission experience gained in private practice, government, or in-house settings.
  • Exhibits a strong entrepreneurial spirit, innovative mindset, and exceptional client management abilities.
  • Ideally has a transferable client base and a proven history of business development.
  • Is commercially minded and comfortable providing pragmatic, in-house style advice and making informed decisions.
  • Is a self-starter, able to work efficiently, adapt quickly, communicate effectively, and is passionate about enhancing client experience.
