The Role
We seek a high-achieving employment lawyer who possesses commercial acumen, responsiveness, and the ability to provide clear and decisive legal counsel. This role offers the chance to engage in a diverse in-house style environment, serving clients across various sectors and sizes, without the pressure of billable hours or timesheet tracking.
Key Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in New Zealand employment law, advising both private sector and government clients. Candidates with additional experience in Australian employment law or commercial law are highly encouraged to apply.
- A minimum of 5 years of post-admission experience in private practice, government, or in-house settings.
- A strong entrepreneurial mindset with exceptional client management skills.
- Ideally, a portable client base and a proven track record in business development.
- Commercially-minded, capable of providing pragmatic, in-house style advice and making informed decisions.
- A self-starter who can work efficiently, adapt to changing circumstances, communicate effectively, and is passionate about enhancing client experiences.
