Policy Officer Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the Policy, Reform and Legislation Branch within a Government Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and analyze complex legislative and justice policy issues to identify emerging problems and develop evidence-based solutions.
  • Provide expert policy advice to stakeholders on key legislative and justice system reforms, as well as support Agency and/or Government policy initiatives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to facilitate engagement in identifying and developing legislative and policy solutions.
Job Requirements

A strong candidate will have a law degree or equivalent qualification.

  • Sound knowledge of Commonwealth and State law, government functions, and the legislative process.

Additional requirements include strong research and analysis skills, advanced communication skills, ability to manage competing priorities, build effective relationships, and demonstrate integrity and professionalism.
