This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an experienced professional to join our team as an Assistant Director. As part of our Assurance, Governance, Integrity, and Risk Branch, you will play a key role in supporting the department's outcomes, building organisational capability, and enhancing a pro-integrity and positive risk culture.
Key Responsibilities:- Support the Director and other Assistant Directors in managing the uplift in capability and compliance with the new Commonwealth Fraud and Corruption Control Framework.
- Lead the capability uplift work across the department to improve integrity, fraud, and corruption control arrangements within the department.
- Work with stakeholders and colleagues to identify vulnerabilities in the department's fraud and corruption control risk assessments and recommend risk mitigations to address immediate or ongoing fraud risks.
- Promote ongoing updates to the department's fraud and corruption control governance arrangements and empower and support departmental employees through education and awareness activities related to fraud and corruption control.
- Strong representation and organisational skills, well-developed communication skills, and the ability to work under limited supervision.
- Ability to distil complex information and quickly identify critical issues to formulate appropriate advice and guidance and make informed decisions.
- Engaging effectively with stakeholders and colleagues and a demonstrated ability to build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Always acting with high levels of integrity and professionalism in accordance with APS values and ethical standards.
