News Editor Job Description

This role involves curating and publishing timely public-source news materials, delivering real-time accurate news updates, and crafting concise topical editorials.

Responsibilities:
  • Curate & Publish: Gather, edit, and publish news materials.
  • Anticipate & Alert: Deliver timely news updates to subscribers.
  • Write Smart: Craft engaging editorials on parliamentary activity.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Ensure high-quality content and comprehensive coverage.
  • Customer Support: Assist subscribers with research queries and content needs.

The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, be able to work efficiently under tight deadlines, and possess excellent organizational skills.

Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field is required.
  • At least 3 years of experience in news editing or a related field is preferred.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Proficiency in English grammar and syntax.
  • Strong knowledge of AP style.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
