The Opportunity

Our law firm is seeking an experienced tax lawyer to cover a 12-month parental leave as a Practice Leader in Sydney. In this role, you'll assist numerous small and medium-sized businesses with a broad range of tax law needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide initial business structuring advice to clients.
  • Offer restructuring/rollover relief advice to help businesses grow.
  • Advising on business exit planning, including small business CGT concessions.
  • Design and eligibility advice for ESS/ESOP.
  • Draft ATO/OSR private ruling applications.
  • Draft/amend trust deeds.
  • Advise on investment raises with our capital raising team.
  • Assist with exits and mergers with our M&A team.
  • International expansion advice (transfer pricing and permanent establishment).
  • GST and FBT.
Qualifications and Skills

We're looking for someone with:

  • 8+ years of experience as a tax lawyer in a private practice environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Efficient prioritization and productivity.
  • Business acumen and a passion for business growth.

  • A service-oriented attitude and a love for assisting clients.
