Southbank Library at Boyd is a place where people connect, learn, create and feel at home — and we're looking for a dynamic leader to keep it thriving.

In this hands-on leadership role, you'll guide a passionate team to deliver exceptional customer experiences, keep the library running smoothly day-to-day, and ensure it's a safe, welcoming and inspiring space for all.

You'll manage facilities, collections, IT systems and tenant relationships, while also contributing to long-term planning and service improvements across our library network.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leading, guiding and managing the team to foster a performance-based culture and drive accountability and excellence in outcomes through coaching, mentoring and empowering team members and direct reports to develop and perform at a high level, and as an effective team.
  • Overseeing daily branch operations, including staff rostering, financial procedures, customer service delivery, and resolution of complex customer service issues.
  • Building and sustaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including tenants, community organisations, and service providers
  • Leading safety initiatives across the library service, including coordinating OHS inspections, Health and Safety Representative meetings, procurement of safety equipment, and regular review of incident and emergency procedures.
