Job Description

The role of the Caseworker involves providing high-quality case management services for young people in Intensive Therapeutic Care (ITC) with a focus on effective planning, implementation, monitoring, and review of case plans to achieve permanency and identified outcomes.

Caseworkers will work closely with ITC Coordinators, Therapeutic Specialists, House Managers, and other ITC staff to provide a holistic therapeutic response that supports young people to heal from trauma and achieve their full potential.

Caseworkers will also be responsible for developing and implementing strategies and plans for individual young people that address presenting issues, facilitate the development of new skills and perspectives, promote positive behavioral outcomes, and increase engagement in education, employment, training, and community activities.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor degree in social work, youth work, community services, or a relevant field;
  • Experience working with young people with complex trauma and an understanding of adolescent development, trauma, attachment, and resilience theory;
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in casework practice preferably in OOHC or child protection; and the ability to achieve positive outcomes for vulnerable young people and their families;
  • Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people, and their families;
