Lead Clinician for Youth Mental Health

The Department of Health, Tasmania is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Clinician to join its Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) team. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing high-level clinical leadership to the team and working closely with multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver quality mental health services to young people and their families.

This role requires a senior allied health professional with experience in clinical leadership, complex case management, assessment, counselling, and/or therapy within mental health or relevant/related sectors. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' post-graduate experience in child, adolescent, and/or youth mental health or a related field, and training in evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as CBT, DBT, Family Therapy, or ACT.

The successful applicant will work from either Launceston CBD or Burnie and Devonport offices, and will have access to beautiful beaches, bushwalks, and recreational activities across the small cities and townships of the region. An attractive relocation package and support for international visa requirements may be available for successful applicants.

This permanent full-time day worker position involves working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Salary: $123,717 - $134,336 per annum, with an 11% superannuation contribution on top of this amount.

  • Satisfactory completion of an appropriate allied health professional course of study at a recognised tertiary institution and registered with the relevant Board or, in the case of unregulated professions, eligible for membership of the relevant professional association.
  • Current Working with Children Registration.
