The Department of Health, Tasmania is seeking a dedicated and passionate Youth Mental Health Specialist to fill a leader role in its Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of children and young people in Tasmania.

This specialist will provide clinical services through the provision of complex case management, assessment, and individual therapies, including the development and implementation of specialised treatment programs. They will work closely with multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver quality mental health services to young people and their families.

The successful applicant will have a minimum of 3 years' post-graduate experience in child, adolescent, and/or youth mental health or a related field, and training in evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as CBT, DBT, Family Therapy, or ACT. An attractive relocation package and support for international visa requirements may be available for successful applicants.

This permanent full-time day worker position involves working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Salary: $123,717 - $134,336 per annum, with an 11% superannuation contribution on top of this amount.

  • Satisfactory completion of an appropriate allied health professional course of study at a recognised tertiary institution and registered with the relevant Board or, in the case of unregulated professions, eligible for membership of the relevant professional association.
  • Current Working with Children Registration.
