We are excited to announce an opportunity with a leading global developer in the renewable energy sector, seeking to enhance their accomplished energy markets team.

As a Senior Energy Market Analyst, you will be instrumental in guiding market strategies and maximizing the potential of renewable energy initiatives within the National Electricity Market (NEM) in Australia.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of energy market trends, pricing mechanisms, and regulatory developments within the National Electricity Market (NEM) in Australia.
  • Leverage extensive knowledge of energy market principles to predict electricity pricing, demand fluctuations, and market behavior.
  • Create and sustain advanced models to simulate market conditions and assess the economic feasibility of renewable energy projects.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including project development, finance, and regulatory affairs, to enhance decision-making processes.
  • Observe and analyze competitor actions, market risks, and opportunities to formulate strategic insights.
  • Deliver recommendations and insights to optimize asset management, trading strategies, and revenue generation from renewable energy resources.
  • Prepare and present clear, succinct reports and presentations to senior leadership and stakeholders.
Essential Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as an Energy Market Analyst, ideally within the National Electricity Market (NEM) in Australia.
  • Demonstrated expertise in energy market analysis, including familiarity with electricity market frameworks, regulations, and participants.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with proficiency in data analysis tools and methodologies; experience with market modeling software is advantageous.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convert complex data into actionable insights.
  • A strategic mindset with a proven ability to influence decision-making and achieve results.
  • Capacity to excel in a dynamic, collaborative environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.
