We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Property Accountant to join our team at Jones Lang LaSalle IP, Inc. as a key member of our financial management team.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare, review, and process month-end financial reports, including variance commentaries, to ensure accurate and timely delivery to clients.
- Analyze and report on the performance of the property on a monthly and quarterly basis, including reforecasting reports, to provide insights for informed decision-making.
- Maintain tight control over operating costs and collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure financial performance is understood and optimized.
- Ensure accurate and timely delivery of financial reporting to clients, including owner remittances and accounting adjustments.
- Assist in the preparation of annual property budgets and reforecasts, and collaborate with external auditors for the preparation of outgoings audit and adjustments.
- Calculate and account for percentage rent for applicable tenants, and manage incentives/rent abatement calculations and accounting for tenants.
- Post accounting adjustments, accrual journals, and rent smoothing journals to ensure accurate reporting.
- Assist with state/national compliance and audit tasks, and perform any other financial and accounting tasks and reporting as required.
- Demonstrated track record of success in a similar finance or accounting role, with strong knowledge of property accounting principles.
- Experience in financial management and reporting, with excellent attention to detail and adherence to budgets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial tracking and analysis, and ability to make tough decisions and provide solution-based recommendations.
- Strong relationship-building skills, with effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
