In this pivotal role, you will be a key figure in guiding the overhaul of conservation planning under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 2009 (EPBC Act). Your responsibilities include advising on business processes, briefing templates, guidance materials, templates, and external engagements to ensure compliance with EPBC Act requirements.
The position involves spearheading policy inputs for national conservation planning reforms for Australia's threatened species and ecological communities. You will also represent the team at crucial meetings, including the Threatened Species Scientific Committee. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing staff and coordinating the review and synthesis of ideas and information to inform best practice policy.
This is a critical role that demands exceptional stakeholder engagement and management skills, as well as the ability to communicate complex information to various audiences. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in being flexible, reliable, and able to work effectively in a small team environment.
The successful applicant will demonstrate a high level of analytical, written, and presentation skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
