Policy Advisor, Biosecurity and Reform

We are seeking experienced professionals to fill vacancies in the Biosecurity Response and Reform Branch. You will research and develop advice on complex policy issues affecting the national biosecurity system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage well-researched policy advice regarding biosecurity reform or response.
  • Lead and manage hybrid teams through inclusive leadership and coaching/mentoring.
  • Manage and deliver complex projects and policy while managing stakeholder sensitivities.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in policy or program design and development.
  • Leadership experience with a coaching mind-set to motivate a team.

Biosecurity is a critical component of Australia's national security framework. The ability to effectively respond to emerging threats and implement reforms is essential for maintaining public trust and confidence in the government's ability to protect its citizens.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
