Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced administrative professional to support the Emergency Department at our hospital. This is a permanent full-time position, working 38 hours per week.

This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in administration, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will be able to work effectively in a team environment, providing administrative support to medical staff and other departments as required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Rostering and Scheduling: Prepare and manage medical staff rosters, ensuring optimal coverage for planned and unplanned leave.
  • Liaison and Communication: Liaise with multiple departments to compile daily rosters, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with employment conditions and award provisions.
  • Locum Placements and Time Management: Manage locum placements, process timesheets, monitor overtime, and escalate staffing deficits as needed.
  • Collaboration and Support: Work closely with the JMO Unit, Nurse Manager, and medical leadership to ensure seamless operations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Administrative Expertise: Demonstrated capacity to provide effective and professional administrative support, in confidence and with discretion.
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Well-developed interpersonal, verbal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate with management and staff at all levels.
  • Technical Proficiency: Confident and proactive in learning new online tools and software, including MS Office Suite.
  • Organisational Skills: Strong organisational skills with demonstrated ability to plan, organise, set priorities to meet deadlines.
