Piping Design Lead Job Description

This role involves coordinating and delivering process, piping, and mechanical deliverables in the Drafting and Design Department. The Piping Design Lead is responsible for ensuring that all project deliverables are completed on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Coordination: Oversee piping design and drafting activities to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Schedule Management: Assist in creating schedules, man hour estimates, and scope of work documents.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor project deliverables to guarantee accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Team Leadership: Provide guidance, training, and direction to the design team on standards and procedures.
  • Design Deliverables: Prepare 3D models using Hexagon CADWorx and Bentley AutoPLANT 3D software.
  • Document Preparation: Create design drawings for various disciplines, including Process, Piping, and Mechanical.
  • Review Meetings: Coordinate internal and external model reviews.
  • File Management: Ensure effective electronic filing system and folder structure.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Leadership and Coordination: Proven ability to lead a team of piping designers.
  • QA/QC: Strong understanding of quality assurance and control principles.
  • Design Layout: Skilled in designing piping systems.
  • Process Plant Knowledge: Familiarity with process plant layouts and piping design fundamentals.
