As a seasoned risk leader, you will be responsible for spearheading our risk management efforts and driving strategic growth across our wholly owned subsidiary.

About the Role

This critical position demands a highly skilled and experienced professional who can foster a culture of excellence, drive innovation, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. The successful candidate will lead a team of risk professionals, collaborate with senior leaders, and work closely with managers to safeguard clients, drive continuous improvement, and uphold operational risk standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective risk management frameworks that mitigate financial and non-financial risks across all business units.
  • Lead a high-performing team of risk professionals, providing coaching, guidance, and support to ensure their growth and success in delivering the risk strategy.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to assess and embed controls, ensuring seamless integration with existing processes and procedures.
  • Partner with senior leaders to drive compliance initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing remedial actions as needed.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into operational and compliance incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in a senior risk leadership role, preferably within the financial services or disability-related sectors.
  • Proven track record of driving growth, improving efficiency, and reducing risk exposure through innovative solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop informed recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation.
  • Highly developed problem-solving skills, with the ability to address complex regulatory policies and implement effective solutions.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a commercial discipline such as commerce, finance, accounting, law, or equivalent.
