Marine Fleet Technical Superintendent Role

Riverside Marine operates a diverse fleet of vessels across Australia, serving various industries.

The company's North Queensland hub in Townsville supports tourism and transportation through its crew transfer, roll-on roll-off, and scientific research vessels.

This key role is responsible for upholding asset management standards within the Business Unit.

The Fleet Technical Superintendent will lead the Technical function in the Business Unit, working closely with marine crews and local stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Supporting Fleet Engineers in Asset Lifecycle Management and condition-based maintenance
  • Delivering the overall fleet maintenance and docking strategy
  • Overseeing Class and Flag State compliance for all vessels
  • Building relationships with internal stakeholders and Clients
  • Identifying procurement optimisation opportunities for fleet spares and maintenance requirements

Mandatory qualifications include tertiary qualifications in Marine Engineering and/or Engineer Class III (Class I preferred), with relevant experience and skills.

The successful candidate will have strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as experience working in a collaborative team environment.

Riverside Marine has a strict no-tolerance policy towards substance abuse in the workplace.

This role requires flexibility and travel for marine projects. A pre-employment medical and psychometric testing will be conducted during the final stages of the recruitment process.
