Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Director to lead and manage activities for planning, development, and implementation of projects and systems to meet organisational requirements.

About the Role

This is a 12-month engagement with potential extensions. The successful candidate must be based in Canberra and possess a NV2 or a TSPV security clearance. Preference will be given to Australian citizens.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise and ensure improvement and enhancement of organisational project methodologies.
  • Lead and manage capability lifecycles of systems development or enhancements.
  • Plan, initiate, and manage procurements to support program and organisational requirements.
  • Lead and manage large stakeholder groups focused on business outcomes.
  • Lead and manage project review and reporting mechanisms; project financial management; change control and quality reporting.
  • Coordinate project resourcing according to priorities.
  • Identify and manage project/program risks and issues.
Financial Management Criteria
  1. Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with organisational requirements.

The ideal candidate will have experience in identifying and calculating costs for financial planning and budgeting, collating required financial data, and providing analysis for decision-making purposes.

Organisational Change Management Criteria
  1. Develop a change management approach and plan in collaboration with sponsors, users, and project teams.

They will create and implement action plans to ensure readiness for change before going live, acquire change management resources, develop their capabilities, gather feedback, assess risks, and communicate tailored change management plans to stakeholders.

Project Management Criteria
  1. Take full responsibility for defining, approaching, facilitating, and successfully completing medium-scale projects.

The successful candidate will provide effective leadership to the project team, adopt appropriate project management methods and tools, manage the change control process, assess and manage risks, maintain realistic project plans, deliver regular communication to stakeholders, and monitor project performance.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this role is AU$120,000 - AU$180,000, depending on experience.
