Senior Principal Lawyer

Shape the future of justice in Queensland as a senior leader.

  • Partner with General Counsel to ensure high-quality legal services.
  • Provide strategic advice and manage sensitive litigation for senior leaders.
  • Monitor legal developments and advise on emerging issues affecting the department.
  • Review and endorse complex briefs and Cabinet submissions with legal implications.

As a senior principal lawyer, you will lead a talented team of lawyers and guide critical initiatives that impact communities across the state. You will work directly with the General Counsel to deliver expert, impartial legal advice and oversee complex matters.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Extensive post-admission experience in employment and/or administrative law.
  2. A strong track record of providing high-level legal advice in complex public sector settings.
  3. Strategic judgement, innovative thinking, and ability to manage emerging challenges.
  4. Proven leadership in managing people and resources to deliver high-quality outcomes.
