Effective Project Cost Manager

As a highly motivated and experienced Project Cost Controller, you will play a key role in supporting the project manager to achieve their key objectives including commercial performance optimization and financial accuracy.
Key responsibilities include ensuring relevant contracts and jobs are set up fully in our internal financial systems, enabling timely invoicing, cost monitoring, and report generation.
Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring timesheet (human resources and assets) and invoice accuracy, as well as monitoring cost ledgers and identifying and reconciling actual invoiced cost data against budgeted cost data.
Other key responsibilities include driving client requirements aligned to contract deliverables, realizing opportunities to maximize outcomes in accordance with conditions of the contract, revenue and cost forecasting and risk analysis to anticipate budgetary variations.
Continued tracking of project costs aligned to client purchase orders is also essential, as is driving project variation and delay expectations to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements.
Furthermore, you will coordinate End of Month requirements for projects to comply with internal and external financial reconciliation and invoicing obligations, identify opportunities for continuous improvement in the cost control function of the project, and track submitted invoices to ensure payment is received within payment terms in the contract.
Audit of payroll costs and other business expenses to minimize leakage on the project is also necessary, as is resolving any invoice queries with client stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely invoice approvals.
Lastly, preparation of accurate and timely project cost reports including weekly, monthly, and quarterly project reporting expectations is a crucial responsibility.
