At Hooker & Heijden, we're seeking an experienced Executive Insurance Leader to join our team in Perth. As a key member of our leadership team, you'll be responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and operational success of both our Perth and Broome branches.

About the Role

This is an exceptional opportunity for a results-driven leader with at least 7 years of strong broking experience. You'll have a proven track record in insurance leadership, team management, and business development, with a deep understanding of insurance products and risk management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of 7 staff across both Perth and Broome, driving a high-performance culture that empowers employees to excel.
  • Strategic Business Development: Develop and implement strategies for business growth, including client acquisition, retention, and expansion, identifying opportunities to strengthen relationships with existing clients while cultivating new business.
  • Client Relationship Management: Maintain strong relationships with key clients in both Perth and Broome, ensuring the brokerage provides exceptional service, delivers tailored insurance solutions, and consistently meets or exceeds client expectations.
  • Financial Management and Growth: Take full responsibility for the financial performance of both the Perth and Broome branches, tracking performance metrics, ensuring profitability, and leading the branches toward sustainable revenue growth.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee the day-to-day operations of both branches, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, streamlining workflows, and continuously improving processes to enhance client service and operational efficiency.
  • Collaboration and Reporting: Work closely with senior leadership to provide regular performance reports, feedback, and updates on key strategic initiatives, contributing to broader business objectives and ensuring alignment across locations.
  • Brand Representation and Market Leadership: Represent the brokerage as a leading brand in both Perth and Broome, participating in industry events, local business initiatives, and networking opportunities to enhance the brokerage's reputation, attract new clients, and maintain strong relationships within the market.
What You Will Bring
  • A minimum of 7 years of strong broking experience, with a solid background in managing complex client portfolios, providing tailored risk management solutions, and driving business growth.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills, with experience leading teams across multiple locations, building high-performing teams, coaching, and mentoring staff, and driving results.
  • A successful track record of acquiring new clients, building long-term business relationships, and driving growth, with a clear vision for the future of both branches.
  • Strong financial management skills, with experience overseeing branch performance, managing budgets, and achieving revenue growth, analyzing performance metrics, setting targets, and driving financial success.
  • A deep understanding of insurance products and risk management, with a Tier 1 qualification in Insurance Broking, guiding both teams and ensuring the brokerage delivers tailored solutions to clients.
  • A passion for delivering exceptional client service and building strong, long-lasting relationships with clients, proactively identifying and meeting clients' needs, ensuring the brokerage remains a trusted advisor.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, engaging effectively with clients, internal teams, and senior management, and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • A results-driven leader who thrives on achieving business goals and driving performance, highly self-motivated, able to manage competing priorities, and inspiring your team to deliver excellence.
