About the Role

Paxus - Technology + Digital Talent is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to join our team on a 3-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a large Queensland Government department and contribute to their digital transformation journey.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Document and Present Current State: Develop a comprehensive understanding of the department's application, technology, and information assets, and present strategic recommendations to minimize their ICT risk profile.
  2. Legacy Replacement Risk Profile Program: Deliver a program to identify and mitigate risks associated with legacy systems and applications.
  3. Risk Assessments and Gap Analysis: Conduct thorough risk assessments and gap analysis for applications, technology, and information assets to inform strategic decisions.
  4. Strategic and Technical Advice: Provide expert advice on ICT investment decisions, develop briefs and business cases, and create an ICT Investment Roadmap to drive digital transformation.
  5. Internal Digital Planning: Lead internal digital planning activities, ensuring compliance with whole-of-government and departmental frameworks, strategies, standards, and methodologies.
  6. Foundation Roadmaps and Strategies: Develop foundation roadmaps, strategies, and frameworks, plans, and policies using best practice architectural methodologies and collaborating with business and technology subject matter experts.
  7. Business Strategy Alignment: Clearly articulate and advocate for the connection between business strategies and enterprise transformation activities.
  8. Trend Research and Evaluation: Research and evaluate trends of digitization, including new and emerging technologies, and identify opportunities to deliver new and innovative products and services.
  9. Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain strong stakeholder support for enterprise architecture at all levels of the department, ensuring design processes/rules are known, understood, complied with, and commensurate.
Essential Requirements
  1. Strategic IT Capabilities: Possess strategic IT capabilities, able to drive maturity of Enterprise Architecture and be a visionary.
  2. Stakeholder Engagement Skills: Demonstrate stakeholder engagement skills and ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization, with capacity to educate stakeholders on the need to change.
  3. Technical Communication: Ability to translate technical jargon into clear business language.
