Field Services Technician | Mining Technology

Role focused on on-site service support across product installations and maintenance for Hexagon Mining technology at client sites in the APAC region, with rosters that vary by assignment and may be FIFO or DIDO.

The Mining division offers surveying, design, fleet management, production optimization and collision avoidance within a life-of-mine solution that connects people and processes to reduce costs and improve safety and productivity at mine sites.

Role and Responsibilities
  • On-site service support for client mine sites, focusing on product installations and maintenance
  • Ensure Hexagon Mining technology solutions operate effectively and deliver value to mining operations
  • Provide training, instruction and advice to customers on the effective use and operation of Hexagon Mining technology solutions
  • Repair, install, configure, commission and support electronic, microprocessor-based systems and radio communications equipment, including issue identification and resolution
Rostering and Work Arrangements

Roster patterns may include M-F, 7:7, 8:6 and will vary by assignment. Roles may be FIFO or DIDO based on location, with international rosters varying by requirements.

Qualifications and Skills

Required

  • Trade certificate or equivalent in Auto Electrician, Electronics, Industrial Electronics, Instrumentation or Communications
  • Experience in electronics, radio, television, automotive, mining or similar industries
  • Experience in on-site installation, system configuration, commissioning, troubleshooting and repair of technology hardware or systems
  • Australian working rights: Permanent Resident or Australian Citizen
  • Ability to work independently or in a team; strong interpersonal skills
  • Customer-centric and solution-focused approach; agile and adaptable
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and repairing electronics systems; experience diagnosing and repairing diverse environments with electronics/electrical focus
  • Prior exposure to CAS or FMS system installation within mining equipment
  • Experience installing hardware on surface mining equipment/heavy industry (desirable)
  • Basic knowledge of LANs/WANs; familiarity with Linux OS command line (desirable)
  • Good computing skills: firmware/software loading, troubleshooting, administration tasks and email
