Housekeeping Assistant Job Description

This is an opportunity to contribute to a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment for residents by ensuring all designated areas within our facilities are clean and maintained to high standards.

You will work collaboratively with team members across the facility, fostering strong communication and teamwork to support resident satisfaction and the successful delivery of housekeeping services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clean and maintain all areas of the facility ensuring a high standard of cleanliness as set out in cleaning and infection control manuals
  • Be of service and support the needs of residents through interactions with residents, their families and visitors
  • Safe handling, cleaning and usage of cleaning equipment and chemicals
  • Follow and complete the work schedule and duties of the shift rostered. Where required this could include: Mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, as well as laundry duties
  • Communicate effectively with employees to ensure teamwork and achievement of role is attained
  • Follow all safe work practices and WHS practices
  • Liaise with the Cleaning Team Leader to ensure that housekeeping is timely and professionally attended to
  • Communicate effectively and empathically with consumers and their relatives to ensure their needs are met
  • Undertake all duties with the customers' expectations and needs in mind
  • Consult with stakeholders as relevant to the role, ensuring effective communication with the team and external suppliers in all aspects of service delivery
  • Uphold privacy and confidentiality
About You:
  • Previous housekeeping experience
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively as an individual and within a team
  • Demonstrated high level of customer service skills
  • Current driver's license
  • Current NDIS check
  • National Police Check (the Diocese will consider the relevance of any reported outcomes)
