Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to contribute to the delivery of complex engineering projects for the Australian Defence Force.

  • The ideal candidate will provide technical expertise in the design, analysis, implementation, test and lifecycle support of safe and secure delivery of Defence assets.
  • They will develop Engineering Change Proposals using change management processes and conform to relevant quality management and Australian Standards.
  • Additionally, they will conduct testing against approved baselines for verification and validation including development and execution of test procedures and analysis documentation.
Requirements:
  • A Professional Engineer with tertiary qualifications in an engineering discipline. Electrical Engineering is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years prior relevant experience in a relevant engineering discipline within a process-driven environment (e.g. Defence, medical, manufacturing, mining).
  • The ability to effectively work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • The ability to deliver quality engineering solutions to expectations.
  • Experience with managing the safety & risk assessment process and addressing risks through system safety design.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills, fostering strong mutual understandings between diverse internal and external stakeholders.

  • Personal and team management skills.
  • Priority-management skills.
  • A strong understanding of the Department of Defence's operating environment and standards.
