Job Summary

The Executive Branch Manager, Statutory Assessments will lead the Development Assessment Branch, responsible for regulatory and delegated statutory assessment decision-making functions of the Territory Planning Authority.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Development Assessment Branch and provide strategic direction to the team.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure effective decision-making and regulatory compliance.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including government agencies, industry partners, and the community.
  • Provide support to the Executive Group Manager and ACT Chief Planner, Statutory Planning, in leading the wider Statutory Planning Division.
  • Drive change management strategies, skill and capacity building, and embed a performance culture based on collaboration and achieving results.
Requirements

The successful applicant will have:

  • Exceptional judgement and risk engagement skills.
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex concepts and find great solutions for the Canberra community.
  • Experience in territory planning, development decision-making processes, and land management processes.
  • High-level communication skills and the ability to build and maintain strategic relationships.
  • Proven ability to lead and deliver large-scale projects within set timeframes.
Remuneration and Contract

The position attracts a remuneration package ranging from $265,492 to $276,106, depending on the current superannuation arrangements of the successful applicant. The successful applicant will be engaged under a performance-based long-term contract for a period of up to five years.
