We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Gerontological Specialist. This is an opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals living with dementia.
About the RoleThis role will involve delivering high-quality support and guidance to families, caregivers, and clinical staff to help them understand how dementia affects each individual.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver tailored training and coaching to equip carers and clinicians to prevent and respond to behaviour changes.
- Develop comprehensive reports that provide valuable insights into individual situations and people.
- Undertake thorough assessments to gain a deeper understanding of the holistic experience of the person and their care network.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to build capability across the aged care sector.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in supporting people living with dementia and experience working in Australian residential aged care and/or community aged care.
Required skills and qualifications include:
- High level of negotiation, communication, and relationship building skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to share knowledge and promote change at all levels.
