Job Overview

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop processes for blocking, milling, turning, grinding, and polishing of eyeglass lenses with precision and accuracy.
  • Conduct thorough research to understand the complex interactions between material properties, machine parameters, and processes, ensuring optimal results.
  • Lead projects related to the development of cutting-edge technologies and the improvement of existing ones, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Support the seamless introduction and transfer of new technology into operations, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum productivity.
  • Provide expert technical support to production and quality teams on surfacing-related technology issues, promoting a collaborative and solution-focused environment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering with a focus on CNC machining, preferably from a reputable institution.
  • At least 3-6 years of experience in a similar role, demonstrating a proven track record of success and growth.
  • Proficiency in statistics, design of experiments, and machine capability studies, with a strong analytical mindset.
  • Programming skills in languages such as Matlab or Python are highly desirable, enabling the candidate to drive technological advancements and automation.
  • Experience with Siemens or Beckhoff PLC controllers and CAD packages is also beneficial, providing a competitive edge in terms of technical expertise.
