To deliver effective procurement services in line with Queensland Government policies, we are seeking a Senior Procurement Officer.

About the Role:

  • This senior role involves managing complex procurement projects from planning to contract management and evaluation.
  • Developing procurement strategies aligned with organisational goals is also key.
  • The successful candidate will prepare and evaluate tender documentation and contract terms.
  • Negotiating with suppliers to achieve optimal outcomes is crucial.
  • They will advise internal stakeholders on procurement policies and best practices.
  • Ensuring compliance with legislation and policies, including the Queensland Procurement Policy, is essential.
  • Maintaining relationships with stakeholders and suppliers will be an important aspect of the job.
  • Contributing to process and system improvements will also be required.

About You:

To succeed, you will have:

  • Experience managing end-to-end procurement, preferably in government or large organisations.
  • Knowledge of Queensland Government procurement policies or the ability to learn quickly.
  • A proven ability to develop and implement procurement strategies is highly desirable.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills are also necessary.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in procurement, business, law, or related fields is highly desirable.
  • Experience at the AO6 level or equivalent, with a focus on procurement, is also required.
